How do I add a new question & answer?To add a new FAQ follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Add a new question & answer 3. Assign your FAQ to a category 4. Save and publish. You can always come back and edit your FAQs.

How do I edit or remove the 'Frequently Asked Questions' title?You can edit the title from the FAQ 'Settings' tab in the Editor. To remove the title from your mobile app go to the 'Site & App' tab in your Owner's app and customize.

Can I insert an image, video, or GIF in my FAQ?Yes. To add media follow these steps: 1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 2. Create a new FAQ or edit an existing one 3. From the answer text box click on the video, image or GIF icon 4. Add media from your library and save.

How long does it take to complete the drawings and design?This is very dependent on the size of the project and what consultants that might be required. Our review process allows you to make decisions and changes as related the project.

Will you handle permits and other regulatory issues?We will assist you through this process and handle the necessary documentation that may be needed for local permits. The design process will include compliance with local building codes and other regulatory issues.

What kind of support and project management is included?Our basic services will be discussed and outlined on our design contract. Additional services are available beyond the standard project observation during construction.

What is included in your fees and how are they charged?Each project is different and our fees are based in the scope of your project and what services we provide.We will prepare a standard contract for the project and include fees for any additional services.Our fees are generally on a percentage basis; but, can be on a cost plus, and even hourly.

How long does it take to design and build a house or complete a renovations?The scope of the project will drive this question.

Do you do commercial or residential design and architecture?We do a wide variety of design projects including: academic, commercial, apartments, schools, governmental, renovations, and residential.

When is a good time to involve a contractor?Depending on the type of project and construction methods, the earlier the better. If you have a contractor in mind, we can work closely with them during the design phases to coordinate materials, time frames, and budget items. If the project is to be competively bid, then several contractors may be included to provide bids on your project. If you need assistance with selecting a contractor, we can provide input based on our past experience over the last decades on various types of projects. We can provide references and samples of our work both from bid projects and design-build type projects.

What is the initial meeting and consultation like?You will have an initial meeting with us to discuss your requirements and make sure that you are choosing the right architect for the job We will discuss your ideas, concepts and our experience as it relates to your project. We will also discuss your budget for the project and the scope of work. Three factors to consider are the funds available, the square footage, and the quality of the work. We can provide rough estimates for the cost of your project based on the three factors noted. Our team works to provide you with a project that is within budget and time frame. After the initial meeting we will keep in touch to make sure you are satisfied with our design process. We will develop preliminary drawings from your ideas and concepts and the design phase continues.

Do I need an interior designer?This is subject to the quality and scope of your project.Our architects have experience in interior design and have also partnered with consultant designers based on project requirements.

What is an architect and why do I need one?Architects design and draw plans of buildings or residences which are used in the construction industry. Architects also work on the restoration, conservation and renovation of existing buildings. Architects ensure that the work is professionally done and that it meets the requirements of local building codes. Architects help to make sure the building is well designed and realistic and works best with your site. An Architect can also help with contractor selection for your work and can help manage the project during the construction phase. Architects can work closely with consultants such as electrical, mechanical, structural, geotechnical, etc. as needed for your project. It is best to hire an architect as soon as you are ready to begin designing your project. The earlier the better! We are happy to provide rough estimates for the cost of your project and can provide some preliminary designs at the start of the process.

Why should I hire NMI as a 'consultant'?Over the past many years, the firm has worked on a vast range of building environmental projects for our clients. This experience allows us to be 'one-stop' source to assist you with environmental issues. The client does not need to search out and hire multiple service providers. Our experience allows NMI to provide a range of services in shorter time frames and at lower costs.

What happens after testing and reports?If the environmental testing indicates there are issues or elevated results from the sample analysis, then NMI will make recommendations for corrective action, remediation, or follow-up activities. Examples may include asbestos abatement, lead paint remediation, simple maintenance procedures, or other short term or long term programs.

What environmental services to you offer?The firm has been doing building environmental work for over forty (40) years and completed more than 1,500 projects for our clients. We specialize in building environmental services that include asbestos, lead paint, mold, indoor air quality, and elevated blood lead investigations. We work for school systems, government agencies, public agencies and private clients. NMI also offers close-out testing, inspections, and government agency coordination for asbestos abatement activities or other remediation work.

How do you change for your services?Based on the scope and types of services being provided, we can work with clients in a number of ways for our services. We can offer a fixed sum fee, time and materials fees, and cost plus services. All of our rates are discussed with clients, a proposal is prepared, and reviewed prior to any work starting.

Do I need an abatement or remediation contractor?Depending on the type of work required, in most cases an abatement contractor or remediation contractor will be required. NMI can assist with required plans and specifications for the scope of work, can assist with the contracting methods, and assist with contractor selection. NMI can also do close-out work for the project which may include final sampling, project inspection, filing reports with governmental agencies, etc.

What work is covered by our environmental technicians?Depending on the services being provided, our techs will meet with clients to discuss the scope of work, take samples, review sample results, write reports, and make recommendations for corrective action or other follow up activities.

How long does it take for inspections and reports?Depending on the scope & type of service (asbestos, lead paint, etc.) the inspections can typically be completed within a few days, sample analysis will take another 4-5 days, then the report is prepared and reviewed. Overall, about two weeks. This work can also be fast tracked based on the needs of the client.

Do we do sample analysis?The firm does not do in-house sample analysis. Project samples are sent to licensed or certified laboratories for analysis by trained laboratory technicians. The firm uses several laboratories depending on what types of samples need analysis. Laboratory analysis typically takes from 2-5 days for results, again depending on the project time frames.
